Started in March 2007 by Michael Taylor, GenXml has remained passionate about creating beautiful and functional websites and online systems, serving the needs of our clients and their customers appropriately and simply.

We have over 15 years experience in the Internet industry and know what works to keep our solutions simple and easy to maintain. Keeping up to date with the latest trends in web design and development technologies, we have served the needs of 11 clients in South Africa and abroad.

Our clients range from schools and educational institutions to large broadcasting companies in South Africa and the US. We have built large websites that integrate with 3rd party systems to serve text and video content to thousands of people each month, managed by dozens of content and video editors daily. We have also designed and developed smaller websites viewed by just a few hundred people each month, managed by a handful of content editors.

Working closely with departments within our client base, we have trained and supported over 50 content editors and web developers to streamline content management and further developments and enhancements on the websites. Our philosophy of co-operation with other designers and developers means that our clients remain empowered to grow their website or service without hinderance. We let our professionalism and level of expertise keep our clients, not binding contracts.

Over the last 2 years we have worked on 10 successful websites and web applications. From designing and developing entire websites, to collaborating with teams and 3rd party service providers, our philosophy has always been:

The primary technologies we utilize are Microsoft based. Database systems are modeled and developed using Microsoft SQL Server. Websites are developed using Microsoft ASP.NET. Sites are hosted using Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Server), v6 and v7.

We build our websites using standards-compliant CSS stylesheets and XHTML script, to ensure that all our websites are compatible with the latest browsers on all operating systems. Our standards of excellence are high in this regard so that more potential customers can be reached by our clients.
